Mr. Alami presides at the 30th conference of the UGAA

Mr. Anass Houir Alami, CEO of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and President of the Société Centrale de Réassurance (SCR) chaired the 30th conference of the General Union of Arab Insurance (UGAA) which was held in Egypt from 1 to 4 September, 2014, under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Egypt and coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the creation of the UGAA.

Besides the main conference, Mr. Alami also chaired the Board of Directors and the General Assembly of the UGAA and honoured many leaders from the world of insurance and reinsurance during the ceremony of the Union’s 50th anniversary. Mr. Anass Houir Alami had been appointed Chairman of the UGAA in May 2012, during the 29th conference of the Union co-organized in Marrakech under the patronage of His Majesty the King – whom God may preserve - by the CDG Group, the SCR and the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (FMSAR).

During his two year term at the head of the UGAA, Mr. Alami was concerned with encouraging the members of the Union to adopt effective methods of integration, and to collaborate through the harmonization of financial systems, exchange of expertise, development of training and the establishment of effective mechanisms of cooperation and cohesion.

Regarding the General Union of Arab Insurance (UGAA)

The General Union of Arab Insurance is an international Arab organization founded in 1964. Today, it consists of nearly 400 Arab institutions having the aim of promoting technical cooperation and exchange of business between the various markets and harmonizing all laws and practices governing the activities of intermediation, insurance and reinsurance.
