Technopolis : Signature of land sale contract at Technopolis to Wana Corporate

On Thursday, December 18, 2014, a land sale contract was signed by Mr. Rachid El Alaoui, Managing Director of Technopolis Rabatshore SA, a subsidiary of MEDZ and Frédéric Debord, CEO of Wana Corporate SA for the construction of a Tier III certified data center.

The Technopolis Industrial Park does include the infrastructure needed for the construction of a Tier III data center. A field study was carried out upstream by an international certification consultancy firm. This firm confirmed that the site fulfills all the requirements necessary for installing this type of activity.

Development by Wana Corporate with a certified Tier III data center in this sector should enable it to achieve several objectives:

  • Continuous improvement and increased security for telecom network Infrastructure and Information Systems.
  • Ability to deploy the 4G new generation.
  • Distribution of new products and services for Moroccan customers.

Estimated investment for the Datacenter is of the order of 250 million dirhams, excluding technological equipment.

This first project is expected to create nearly a hundred direct and indirect jobs through technical services for maintenance, systems integration, etc. Installation of a Datacenter is within the scope of the development strategy of value-added activities in the Technopolis industrial park. Likewise, it demonstrates the desire of Technopolis to show progress in social and environmental responsibility.

This new arrival allows additional services to be offered to customers located in Technopolis:

  • Provision of shared and/or private hosting of information systems.
  • Offer of cloud service and hosting service.

Progress in terms of social responsibility is confirmed by:

  • Pooling of computer storage space among multiple customers.
  • Improving energy consumption by pooled utilities in one center.
  • Economic development, through the creation of a new profile and skills requirement in the physical hosting professions.
